Keen to have more space and not move from their favoured Oakley location, Mick and Jenny Ursell were quick to buy at Barratt Northampton’s select ‘The Orchards’ development.
Having lived in Oakley for the past five years in a three bedroom home, and recently having their first child Thomas, the couple chose the four bedroom Willowmead Lodge for its sizeable accommodation.
Jenny, a nurse, said: “The sizes of the rooms are very impressive. The lounge has a lovely bay window and all the bedrooms are doubles.”
The development layout also impressed them. Mick, a London Underground engineer, said: “The plots are spacious. They feel private, but as there are only 10 homes, you’re more likely to talk to your neighbours.”
And the family knew the location well. Mick’s parents live in the village and he’s a member of the motorbike club. He said: “It’s a popular area, particularly for families to be in the catchment area for schools - Thomas will go to school in Oakley.
“There’s also a pub and for day to day items a village store – it’s a sought after area.”
Mick and Jenny’s move went smoothly, thanks to using Barratt’s part exchange service. Mick said: “Part exchange made the whole process much easier. We got a good price for our old home and it was simple to use.”
And for the future? Jenny said: “We also chose this plot for the south-facing garden, Thomas love’s it.” And Mick sees his double garage as a great bonus for his bike.
