First-time buyers Clare Beard and Kyle Spitzer were glad of the help they received from Barratt Northampton, after they fell in love with an apartment at Canterbury Court in Flitwick.
Having travelled around Kyle’s native New Zealand, they decided to buy their first home together and visited the housebuilders landmark development.
Clare said: “Because the apartment was already built, we could see the layout exactly and it just felt ‘right’.
“It’s a corner plot so has lots of character and the balcony was a great bonus – we can’t wait for the summer - we’ll put out a couple of chairs and a table.”
The couple bought their two bedroom Ullswater apartment through Barratt’s Dream Start scheme, which enabled them to buy the home for just 75 per cent of its purchase price.
Kyle said: “We would not have been able to afford this if it wasn’t for Dream Start. We got more for our budget and it was very efficient - we moved in seven weeks.
“We also found the sales negotiators to be very helpful. Because we were new to house-buying, they were able to explain all the different buying stages.”
The location too was a hit. Both work in London, Kyle as a consultant for city banks, and Clare for the University of Westminster as a course administrator.
Claire said: “The train station is just a three minute walk away, and we can be in London in 40 minutes.
And for the future? They both enjoy travelling and find the train link once again handy. Claire said: “It goes directly to Luton airport, so we’re already planning our next trip.”
