We all like an easy lead up to our wedding day – but think about Mr and Mrs Tyler who moved in to a brand-new home in Longstanton, and got married within days of each other.
It sounds unimaginable, but thanks to good organisation and help from Barratt Northampton, the couple moved in smoothly last April to a three-storey home at Windmill Grove.
Nigel and Michaela were previously living in a one-bedroom home in Sawston, and wanted a new home together after they got married.
Having tried unsuccessfully to sell their old home, they were recommended Barratt’s part exchange service and were quickly convinced of its benefits.
The service was so efficient that they found themselves moving quicker than expected. Michaela said: “It only took four weeks to complete, and was hassle free - perfect because of the wedding come up.”
They got married in Thetford, Norfolk in late March, and moved in just three days later. Nigel said: “It was all a bit mad but Barratt were on hand to make sure everything went to plan – they pulled out all the stops.”
The couple chose a three-bedroom Broadway style and immediately liked the layout.
“The open-plan kitchen downstairs is light and airy, and there’s plenty of space – we don’t need to move again – a great family home”, said Nigel.
They both work at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Nigel is an anaesthetic technician and Michaela a children’s nurse.
They chose Longstanton because of the easy commuting to Cambridge in only 20 minutes, and the convenient access to St. Ives.
And for the future? Nigel is keen to get into the garden, and finish the drudgery of pre-packed furniture.
