Pete, Elaine, and their three sons James, Billy and Matthew, were living in nearby Orton Goldhay.
Happy in their old home, they visited Barratt’s development by chance as son Matthew was having a driving lesson nearby and that’s when they became quickly impressed by a four-bedroom design.
Elaine, a support manager at Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, said: “We just popped in one day and saw the Harrow house type.
“The layout is great, has a traditional two-storey design, and best of all, there’s plenty of space – which is something our old home didn’t offer.
“And with three grown-up children, there are no queues for the bathroom – we have three.”
The area also impressed them. Pete, an operations support manager for Ikea, said: “There are many lakes around, including one opposite, and woods nearby – it’s great for walks. The area has a good community feel.”
The family made their move hassle-free, thanks to using Barratt’s part exchange service.
Pete said: “It took just over five weeks for the process to complete - it’s easy to use. Because Barratt bought our old home – it made a huge difference to making an efficient move – it was perfect for us.”
