Location is a key driver for many people when buying a new home, none more so than Lynette Mutize, who bought at Barratt Northampton’s Sovereign Fields in Higham Ferrers.
Lynette, and her 28-month-old son Panashe, were previously living in Kingston, Surrey. Having been priced out of the property market, she decided to move further away, whilst still being close to London.
Lynette said: “Higham Ferrers is an ideal location for us. It is a small community and great for Panashe to grow up in. We can walk to school and the village has everything for day to day things.
“And I’m only a short journey away from my friends in London, and work in Northampton is very convenient.”
Being a first-time buyer, Lynette was able to get help from Barratt, and bought a three bedroom detached home that would normally be out of her budget, particularly where previously based.
She moved into an Endale style in December last year, which ticked many boxes on her wish list. Lynette said: “I’ve always got friends and family coming around, so the separate dining room is ideal – a great socialising space.
“When I saw the size of the living room and bonuses like the en suite to my bedroom and a garage – it suited me perfectly.”
And buying new-build was an easy decision: “I like being the first person to live here. There are no renovations, and the guarantees give real peace of mind.”
