It was an easy decision for Bob and Eileen Spicer to move to Barratt Northampton’s Priory Park in Milton Keynes.
The retired couple who worked in the music industry, previously lived for 36 years in a character five-bedroom Edwardian detached home, in Woodford Green, London.
But with a desire to be closer to grandchildren in Loughton, have a low-maintenance home, and a lifestyle that had everything on hand, they looked to Milton Keynes.
Eileen said: “We had to drive long distances before, but here everything is on our doorstep. A Tesco Express is within walking distance, and the city centre is literally just down the road – it really is easy living.”
A four-bedroom Turnberry style caught their eye. Eileen said: “When we saw the floor plans and stunning countryside views from the plot – we were immediately impressed.”
And when they heard about the exterior look, they were delighted. The couple bought on a select row of stone-built properties, exclusively built in Northamptonshire stone, to complement the picturesque outlook.
Another reason for moving was the home maintenance. Bob explained: “There is virtually nothing to do here. So now my days are easier as I’m not decorating.”
The Spicer’s Weimaraners dog called Ruby is also enjoying the new lifestyle. Eileen said: “Across the road is a bridle path which leads directly to a forest – perfect for walks.”
And for the future, Eileen is keen to get into the garden, and Bob can’t wait to convert his annexe over the garage into a games room - for the grandchildren of course.
