  • With its two main train stations - Haymarket and Waverley - found in the heart of the city centre, Edinburgh is well connected to the rest of Scotland and the UK by rail. If you have your eye on destinations further afield, the city boasts a major international airport a few miles out of town. 

    The city centre meanwhile is easy to explore on foot, although there are plenty of buses and taxis you can use to get around, as well as a tram service that links the airport to the New Town area. If you have a car, you can pick up the A1 to head east towards the coast, while the M9 and M8 motorways are to the west of the centre, the latter of which you can use to drive to Glasgow in around an hour.
