Portobello Beach- Living at Greenacres you don't have far to go for a day at the seaside. Portobello is Edinburgh's only beach with lots to do. Spend a day rockpooling or chilling at one of the many beach side cafes. On the first Saturday of each month Portobello Market is held in Brighton Park, so you can pop along for some fresh produce.

Edinburgh City Centre- Located less than 4 miles away, a short bus journey will take you to Princes' Street where you can shop 'til you drop or head up to the Royal Mile and take in the atmosphere, especially in August during the Fringe.

Local delights- If you fancy staying closer to home you could head to The White House Kitchen for tea. It is famous in the area for its home cooked meals- including stovies and lasagne. They even hold fun dances and a few concerts throughout the year. Fort Kinnaird is also a short walk away, where you can make the most of the local high street shops.
