Essentials on your doorstep

At Barratt @ Portobello you will find everything you need within easy reach. There's so many shops in various locations close to the development. In nearby Musselburgh there is a 24 hour Tesco which is handy for all the essentials, there's a good range of shops at Fort Kinnaird, The Jewel has a big ASDA and Ocean Terminal in Leith has a cinema and lots of restaurants.

Barratt @ Portobello is a stone's thrown from Edinburgh's only beach and only 3 miles from the city centre. Portobello Beach had breath-taking views over the Firth of Forth and you'll be spoiled for choice by the great range of bars, restaurants and independent shops along the promenade. To add to the appeal there's excellent bus, train and road links to the area.

Barratt @ Portobello is located just off Baileyfield Road and is really well connected with good road links and a regular bus service. Lothian buses run in the area with the number 15 and 26 taking you into town and beyond. Brunstane train station is your closest with services running into Edinburgh, the new Borders railway also goes through this station.

Portobello Beach- The beach used to be a popular holiday destination for all those who lived in the central belt, you can't beat Portobello beach. It's Edinburgh's only one and is a great place to walk the dog, or just sunbathe on one of Scotland's few sunny days!

Portobello Market- On the first Saturday of each month you can enjoy shopping for fresh produce at the market which is held in Brighton Park, just a few minutes from the high street.

The Espy- This restaurant is in a unique location, right on the seafront. It is famous for it's burgers and sells breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Portobello Swim Centre- Relax at Edinburgh's only Turkish baths in this vintage Victorian style swimming pool.

 

Live the life

Living at Barratt @ Portobello you will find there's a good range of leisure facilities in the area. There are a number of golf courses nearby, if sailing is more your thing there's even a club that meets on Portobello beach. You can enjoy an indoor swim on colder days at Portobello swim centre, which is also home to Edinburgh's only Turkish baths.
