Dream home with MI New Home

First time buyers Rachel and Gary were able to buy their first home years earlier than they expected thanks to the MI New Home scheme, which enabled them to purchase with a deposit of 5%.

Supported by the Scotland Government, lenders can offer up to 95 per cent mortgages on homes up to £250,000. MI New Home is available to all home buyers and now also includes part exchange through Nationwide and Bank of Scotland.

The couple opted for a 4 bedroom detached home, The Hawick, which comes with integral garage, master en suite and family bathroom, but it was the open plan kitchen dining area that won the couple over.

Rachel says “We have a much more relaxed way of living now. Without MI New Home we would have had to wait another few years so it’s great to have been able to get on the property ladder much earlier.”
