There is an abundance of shops in and around Stonehouse to suit all tastes. Stonehouse high street offers a festival of good shops, post office, town hall, butchers, banks and building society. The town is well served by doctors and dentists alike. Nearby Stroud is noted for its steep streets, independent spirit and café culture and also holds an award winning farmers market every Saturday.
There are a number of pubs in and around Stonehouse perfect for a quiet weekend catch up with friends and family. The Woolpack Inn is one of the oldest buildings in Stonehouse (17th century) and is certainly one of the oldest pubs in the town.
The national trail, Cotswold Way, passes through Stonehouse and is the ideal activity for those that enjoy the outdoors. It passes numerous places of interest, including the site of the Battle of Lansdowne, the Somerset Monument, the Tyndale Monument, Sudeley Castle, Cleeve Hill, Hailes Abbey, and the Broadway Tower.
