Essentials on your doorstep

One of Hamilton's great advantages is the sheer amount of amenities it offers. For a town of roughly 50,000 people, this historic location punches well above its weight in terms of its facilities. Any tour of Hamilton should begin with its pedestrianised retail hub, which extends downhill past a 24-hour supermarket and leisure complex into the grandly titled Palace Grounds retail park.

Efficient, modern design

St John’s Park provides a contemporary range of one and two bedroom apartments. These superb designs offer a variety of styles to choose from including duplexes and penthouses and have all been carefully constructed to suit first time buyers or people looking to downsize their property. As such, each of these apartments feature quality fitted kitchens and are built to be extremely energy efficient to ensure lower fuel bills.

The build so far

St John's Park is one of our newer additions to Barratt West Scotland and building is steadily underway there. We have also recently released for sale a mix of three and four bedroom family homes. Come and visit us in our sales cabin today to discuss our fantastic incentives available and to reserve your plot.

A fantastic location

Hamilton's famous racecourse attracts thousands of visitors every year; and sporting amenities are boundless throughout the town, including five-a-side and full-sized football pitches, tennis and bowling clubs, a water palace, fitness centres and a golf driving range. The town also houses a multiscreen cinema, which is surrounded by restaurants; Hamilton is well served with drinking establishments including a three-storey nightclub.

Hamilton stands beside the M74, and some of its landmark buildings are clearly visible from the neighbouring motorway. As a result, this South Lanarkshire town enjoys impressive road, Rail and bus links to pretty much anywhere you can think of. As well as extending south towards Carlisle and the M6, the newly extended M74 now spears through Glasgow, joining the M8 beyond the Kingston Bridge, while the M73 spur is just a few miles north. Hamilton's town centre is home to a busy bus terminus, with coach and bus services constantly setting off to numerous destinations across South Lanarkshire and beyond.

Evenings and weekends

  • Scotland's theme park is a five-minute drive away at Strathclyde Country Park, beside Motherwell.
  • East Kilbride is a few miles west of Hamilton, with its own country park and museums allied to extensive sporting amenities and a superb six-zone shopping mall.
  • Hamilton is also ideally placed for travelling to Lanark along the picture-postcard A72 Clyde Valley road, past bustling garden centres and quaint pubs.

Live the life

As well as having numerous retail and leisure destinations, Hamilton is richly imbued with history. Its mausoleum is believed to be the largest private burial site in Europe, set within rolling landscaped gardens. Landscaping of a different kind is on show at Chatelherault Country Park and its historic stately home, found on the southern fringe of Hamilton - this is an ideal setting for enjoying the great outdoors on clement days.
