Dr Shahram Kordasti turned his back on the City and moved to a new Barratt home in Maidstone for a much better lifestyle.

He and partner Sara bought at Leybourne Park, a development inspired by traditional architectural styles with contemporary interiors, set in countryside but with plenty of facilities almost on the doorstep and good commuter links.

“I first visited Leybourne Park in September, when Barratt had just launched the development,” said Dr Kordasti.

“I was looking for a nice, quiet place to move to. London is too busy and extremely expensive; I was able to buy a spacious two-bedroom apartment in Maidstone for the price of a one-bedroom flat in London.

I am sure that I will be happy here.

“I would certainly recommend a friend to buy here or elsewhere from Barratt; the sales team has been extremely helpful and even arranged to have my stamp duty paid!”
