Jolene Colquhoun
New Home For Just 50% Of The Price!

Account manager Jolene Colquhoun bought her brand new home for just half the purchase price – thanks to special funding available through Barratt exclusively for first-time buyers.
"I’d been renting a flat there since I left University five or six years ago," says Jolene, 27. "I got to the point where I was paying a fortune in rent and there didn’t seem to be any point. I talked to a number of lenders who were willing to provide me with a mortgage that was five times my salary but with horrendous interest rates and tie-ins. The repayments would have stretched me too much financially".
"My apartment is really modern and spacious and has a lovely kitchen and bathroom with a high specification."
Jolene benefited under the First Time Buyers’ Initiative (FTBI) designed to help people get onto the property ladder. Aspiring first-time buyers, who cannot otherwise afford to buy a home outright, are able to purchase a minimum of 50% of a new home with Government agency, English Partnerships, providing the remainder of the funding.
