Enda and Keith Blacker
For Enda Blacker, moving to a new Barratt home in Dartford felt like coming home. Enda started work 46 years ago as a student nurse at West Hill Hospital, which once occupied the site where the new West Hill Park development now stands. Whilst still a student, Enda met her future husband, Keith, and stayed working as a nurse at the hospital for almost 20 years.
“Living here brings back very happy memories,” she said. “I used to live in student accommodation not far from where we’re living now! The hospital buildings were becoming very old and badly needed replacing, and the new development is lovely, so quiet and safe. It’s wonderful to be back!”
When the couple’s three sons grew up, they decided it was time to leave their 5-bedroom house and find a smaller home. They found the perfect solution in a 3-bedroom Barratt townhouse.
“We needed a house that would be easy to maintain and this really fits the bill,” said Keith. “The Barratt staff were very friendly and helpful, and anything that needed to be done after we moved in was handled very quickly and efficiently.
