The podium gardens at Barratt London’s Fulham Riverside are featured in the Telegraph Luxury.
The Telegraph Luxury’s property and architecture correspondent, Zoe Dare Hall, looks at some of the best communal gardens, shaping London’s green revolution. She explains that “developers are putting green spaces at the forefront of upmarket residential schemes”, such as Barratt London’s Fulham Riverside.
This riverside regeneration scheme in Fulham comprises one, two and three-bedroom apartments, duplexes, triplexes and townhouses, set around an acre of beautiful landscaped gardens with views across the River Thames. With the importance of outdoor space to residents in mind, the development’s design includes tranquil gardens planted with native trees and box hedging, water features, a maze, outdoor gym and even a badminton court.
Dare Hall states that in order to help residents feel that they are getting “a taste of the great outdoors” developers need to consider that “landscaping should be integral, not an afterthought”. She explains that “where space is lacking in London, ‘podium gardens’ – which provide greenery on multiple levels – offer access to green space to more than just those on the ground floor. Barratt [London] has gone for the podium approach at… Fulham Riverside, whose podium garden by Fabrik includes water gardens and a waterfall”.
Residents at Fulham Riverside will also benefit from amenities including fitness suite, a 24-hour concierge service, and a new 92,000 sq. ft. Sainsbury’s superstore.
