Barratt London and Metropolitan Housing Trust sponsor the Phoenix Canoe Club’s annual bell boat race.
Barratt London’s Hendon Waterside development and Metropolitan House Trust proudly sponsored Phoenix Canoe Club’s annual bell boat race yesterday.
The race, which took place on the Welsh Harp Reservoir, is open to children from local schools. Bell boating is a popular activity for primary schools at the Phoenix Outdoor Centre. Each boat can take up to ten adults or 12 children and are used for racing, team building, and nature studies or just for fun.
The Club Manager commented: “Many thanks for the sponsorship of the Bell Boat Regatta on Friday. We had a total of 12 teams of ten students taking part in both Bell Boats and Orienteering. The event was won by St Martin of Porres RC Primary School and we will get the shield engraved and presented to them in due course”
Barratt London and Metropolitan Housing Trust are also supporting the Phoenix Canoe Club to deliver a new waterfront centre. The Phoenix Canoe Club is a charity that provides activities for local schools and community groups on the Welsh Harp Reservoir such as kayaking, canoeing, sailing and windsurfing. Barratt London is working with the Club to design the new centre and a planning application will be submitted later this year.
Once completed, Hendon Waterside will be a flagship scheme delivering over 2,000 one, two and three-bedroom homes, most with a private balcony or terrace. The development will include parks and local amenities, all set within beautiful green surroundings. The current phase, The Vista, has a range of apartments available with views of the Welsh Harp – all of which will be ready to move into this summer.
