Visit the hidden gems

Greenland Place is set to become a vibrant new area to live, shop and relax in.

When it comes to eating, drinking and socialising, there are a number of choices for residents at Barratt London’s Greenland Place development. Bringing organic coffee and home cooked Italian food and pizzas to the residents at Greenland Place is Plough Way Café. The owners of the popular Canada Water Café (located on the ground floor of Barratt London’s Maple Quays development) have opened a sister café, just a six-minute walk from Greenland Place.

Plough Way Café opened its doors yesterday, serving Italian-style breakfast, lunch and dinner. The café will be managed by Canada Water Café’s team, to ensure the same Italian experience. Gilbert Eisentraut, Manager of the Plough Way café commented: “We are all about making our customers feel good”. The marble floor and light and airy layout offers customers, old and new, another Deptford gem to stop by and enjoy an excellent coffee.

Deptford is home to a number of hidden gems, including Little Nan’s bar and the Big Red Pizza restaurant– a converted double decker bus, which also hosts comedy and film nights. Little Nan’s bar was originally set up as a pop-up bar, but due to popularity is now a permanent fixture of Deptford’s bar scene.

Nearby SE16 is also host to a number of excellent dining and shopping options. Just an 11-minute bus journey or 19-minute walk from Greenland Place, residents can take in the street food delights at Hawker House. Run by popular Street Feast, Hawker House is a huge indoor night market on Canada Street, open Friday and Saturday from 17:00 - Midnight. There are 13 street food vendors to choose from – including the infamous B.O.B.'s Lobster, Smokestak and Yum Bun.

For family-friendly fun, residents can visit Surrey Docks Farm, a working charitable farm right on the Thames Path at Rotherhithe Street. There are a variety of attractions at Surrey Docks Farm, from farm animals to orchards, visitors can be actively involved in the working life of the farm.

Greenland Place comprises 580 one-bedroom suites and one, two and three-bedroom apartments in this vibrant Zone 2 location. With national rail, Tube and Overground stations and a river bus pier all within around 20-minutes’ walk, residents are spoilt for choice when it comes to travel links. Deptford offers a number of excellent places to explore by day or night, fast becoming vibrant new area to live, shop and relax in.
