New homeowners get a “helping hand”

Metro Moves interviews the latest family to move into New South Quarter.

Family of three, Karolina, Lukasz and baby Kevin Bukowsa were featured in an interview with Metro Moves property correspondent Andrea Dean, after purchasing their first home at Barratt London’s New South Quarter development.

Karolina and Luckasz were looking to purchase a two-bedroom apartment to ensure long-term security for six-month-old Kevin, with a deposit of less than £15,000. Their dream became a reality thanks to the Government-endorsed Help to Buy scheme. The scheme allows buyers to purchase a home with a five percent deposit, and the Government will lend 20 percent of the purchase price.

“For our first-time property purchase, I was on the lookout for something really special” said Karolina. “A home that was both affordable and of an excellent quality”. New South Quarter in Croydon “fitted the bill perfectly” for Karolina and Luckasz, due to the amenities on-site, including the nearby park and planned nursery.

“There’s a very communal feel and, as a young family, the nursery is particularly helpful for us, given that we both work. I can safely say that our purchase at New South Quarter is one of the best decisions we have made” said Karolina.

New South Quarter (NSQ) is made up of 923 contemporary studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartments set around the River Wandle, close to the heart of Croydon. Many apartments have river views, as well as future on-site facilities such as a café and nursery. The apartments, designed by ATP Group, have open-plan living areas which maximise space, while kitchens and bathrooms come fully equipped with contemporary appliances and fittings.
