Historically, Hartley Wintney has a fascinating past and royal links. King John rode through the village when he was on his way to Runnymede to sign the Magna Carta, and was a royal deer park for more than 600 years. In addition, Elvethan Hall was the home of Henry VIII’s third wife, Jane Seymour.

Hartley Wintney is a picturesque village with a wide main street lined with a selection of antique and gift shops. The village also has a variety of shops stocking all the essentials including a butchers, bakers, pharmacist and bank plus a weekly market.

The picturesque village green and duck pond is overlooked by the Parish Church of St John’s. Surrounded by Mildmay oak trees planted back in 1807, they add to the rural feel of the village.
