Efficient, modern design

From the outset we had a lot of input from the residents of Ellon. They were involved in the design process and helped form what you see today. We wanted to work with the community to build a development that blended in with the existing homes and make use of the natural woodland landscape.

Castlewell looks out over the remains of a historic castle. It’s managed by a local trust who are in the midst of a restoration project to restore the grounds, sundial and fountain. To unable this work, six apartments have been given to the trust, which will provide much needed income.

“It’s set in a beautiful woodland location and is close to the supermarket and local shops. It’s also within easy commuting distance to Aberdeen, which is handy, but gives you the option to live in a peaceful location and relax when you get home”.

In 2014 Castlewell won Housing Development of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards for its approach to design. Located in a beautiful area surrounded by woodland, it’s peaceful yet close to some great local shopping and restaurants, as well as Aberdeen city centre.

Ellon is ideally located for getting to and from Dyce for work, or if it’s Aberdeen city centre you need, then that’s just 17 miles away. Ellon has a good bus service as well as a late night service on weekends. You'll also find it a short drive from Aberdeen International Airport which has domestic and international daily flights.
