Essentials on your doorstep

From city centre shopping to promenade strolls, you'll easily find things to do near your new home at Tarleton Lock. With the Leeds and Liverpool Canal next to the development you'll never be short of somewhere to go for a nice evening walk to blow the cobwebs away or walk the dog. You can relax in one of the coffee shops nearby for lunch or head to Southport for a day at the beach.

Efficient, modern design

At Barratt we use modern materials and building techniques to deliver energy efficient homes that reduce running costs and help the environment. And at 45-44% more energy efficient than an older home of equal size, a Barratt home could save you £1,312 per year on your energy bills*.

At Tarleton Lock we are a creating a selection of red brick and rendered homes with grey slate tiles.

The build so far

Tarleton Lock is a new development of 94, three and four bedroom family homes in mews, semi detached and detached styles. Ground works started in 2014 with show homes opening in 2015. 53 homes have already sold and the first families moved in during the summer of 2015. We expect the development will be build complete by the end of next year.

Evenings and weekends

For the kids...

Being at Tarleton Lock, you'll be spoilt for choice with things to do with kids. For the adventurous ones, visit Southport Pleasureland for rides and classic stalls such as Hook-a-Duck and Arabian Derby. Or if your little ones fancy themselves as a spy, the Preston Spy Mission Treasure Trail is sure to be a hit.

A spot of culture...

For a generous helping of culture, why not head down to The Atkinson? With a combination of art exhibitions, classical music and even one-off festivals you're sure to find something you like. Alternatively, you could visit Southport Theatre where you'll find a whole host of shows available - from dance, musical, cover artists and pantomimes.

A sandy stroll...

A familiar landmark of Southport is the Grade II listed Pier at Southport beach – the oldest iron pier and second longest in the country. In the Pier's Pavilion there's a licensed cafe, a small exhibition on Southport history as well as traditional penny slot machines.

Live the life

Preston has bustling indoor and outdoor markets, fresh Lancashire produce, and a variety of boutique and independent shops. You can visit the Harris Museum’s monument to ‘Literature, Arts and Science’, which is one of six city museums. It also offers two shopping centres and numerous high street brands, all easy to explore.
