Quench your thirst in one of London’s swankiest cocktail bars

London is no doubt a bar haven, attracting and nurturing some of the finest mixologists in the world. With countless London bars neighbouring each Barratt London development, it can be hard to choose the best. From north to south, and everywhere in-between, we bring you the crème de la crème of drinking establishments.

London mixologist creating cocktails

Blackfriars Circus

A 15 minute walk north of our Blackfriars Circus development will take you to the award winning Dandelyan bar. This art deco inspired spot, complete with sweeping marble bar, velvet sofa chairs and panoramic views of the River Thames, is renowned for pushing the boundaries of taste. Expect unusual combinations such as Bacardi and black cardamom, Courvoisier and passionfruit wine, alongside wild rice Grey Goose and clay. This bar is for those with a discerning palette.

If your evening has just begun, take a stroll north across Blackfriars Bridge and past St Paul's cathedral. Within 15 minutes from the Dandelyan, you’ll arrive at the rooftop garden Madison, an urban and edgy bar with incredible views of the cathedral. Their menu consists of a few classic cocktails, but wine connoisseurs will be impressed with their extensive selection. In the evenings, the heated terrace and house DJ attracts a crowd, so be prepared for a long night of dancing.

Landmark Place

On the doorstep of our Landmark Place development is one of London’s most Instagrammed bars – Coppa Club. The iconic glass igloos which line the River Thames are festooned with thousands of twinkling lights and filled with sheepskin rugs and cosy armchairs – hygge at its finest. The menu is unfussy with simple cocktails such as Bellinis and Negronis at a very reasonable price. Bookings are taken months in advance as this one is highly sought after.

A leisurely 10 minute stroll from the riverside is Coq d’Argent, a French bar and restaurant with a twist. Allow yourself to be whisked up the lift and you’ll be welcomed by sprawling topiary gardens and first rate views of the London skyline. Spy The Walkie Talkie building and The Shard whilst perusing the extensive wine list. In typical French fashion, their bar menu consists of Burgundian snails, hand-picked crab, Dublin Bay prawns, and Jersey Royal oysters.

Nine Elms Point

The Bar and Lounge at The Goring Hotel is as magnificent as they come. The deep red walls, leather Chesterfield sofa chairs and chandeliers resemble something from Downton Abbey. With some of the world’s best champagnes on their menu – all served from the magnum – the 30 minute walk from our Nine Elms Point development will no doubt be worth it. In the summer, enjoy a game of croquet in the garden or sit back and watch the ducks toddling around.

If you're craving a little more glitz and glamour, take a northern stroll past Buckingham Palace. Within 20 minutes from Nine Elms Point, you’ll arrive at Sexy Fish, the popular Asian restaurant and bar is lavishly decorated with marble floors, a waterfall wall and red leather seating. But none of that compares to the art – an oversized patent black crocodile hangs from the wall and metre long fish lamps line the ceiling. The cocktail menu is just as over the top, with names such as, ‘Diamonds for Justice’, and ‘Sirens Call’.  If you’re feeling a night-cap, they boast the largest collection of Japanese whisky in the world.
