Where You Should Invest in the East Midlands

May 28, 2021
Nottingham City Centre

Stretching for more than 6,000 square miles, with parts of the region pushing up to Yorkshire in the north and others reaching south towards the Home Counties, the East Midlands is a vast and varied part of the country. The same can be said for the region’s property market, and with so many options it can hard to pick the right spot to call home. To help get your search started, we’ve picked out five great East Midlands areas to invest in.

1. Northampton

If you want to invest in East Midlands properties with the easiest access to London, Northampton is one of the best options you have. Train services to the capital only take an hour, making the town a viable place to live for commuters. House prices are strong and have shown impressive growth over the years, so now is the ideal time to invest. Luckily, we have a selection of 3 and 4 bedroom homes available on our Overstone Gate development, which is on the north-eastern outskirts of town.

2. Nottingham

If you’re looking for a popular place to invest, East Midlands hotspot Nottingham is tough to beat. A great city to live in and with a vibrant student scene which means the rental market is always thriving, the centre of town is full of lively bars, restaurants and colourful retail districts. With that in mind, don’t miss our excellent Beeston Quarter development right on the edge of town, where you’ll find everything from affordable 2 bed apartments to 6 bed family homes for sale.

3. Newark-on-Trent

A pleasant market town which lies along the A46 midway between Nottingham and Lincoln, Newark has a charming and welcoming atmosphere. This makes it a desirable place to live, and in turn a great place to invest. People will always want to buy a home in this area, and you have the opportunity to do just that on our Fernwood Village development. You’ll need to be quick to snap up one of the remaining 4 bed homes before they all sell though.

4. Worksop

Around 25 miles up the A1 from Newark, Worksop is a great place to live if you want to lead a semi-rural life but retain excellent links to some of the region’s major cities. Sheffield is only around 15 miles from town for instance, while spacious National Trust property Clumber Park stretches to the south for endless walks surrounded by pretty natural scenery. You can head there whenever you want after you buy a 3 or 4 bed home on our Gateford Park development, which is on the northern edge of Worksop and opens up to miles of scenic countryside.

5. Grimsby

If you’ve always wanted to live close to the seaside, the old fishing port of Grimsby could be the best place for you to invest in the East Midlands property market. Sitting on the southern shore of the Humber close to where it opens up into the North Sea, there’s so much natural beauty to explore in the form of the local coastline and nearby Lincolnshire Wolds. If this sounds like your perfect place to buy a home, don’t miss our stunning new Wigmore Park site in the New Waltham area just south of Grimsby.
