Things to see and do in Brentford

Brentford is surrounded by superb open spaces, including Boston Manor Park on the north west edge of town. The River Thames forms the town’s southern boundary, along which you’ll find the 57-hectare Syon Park with its historic manor, Watermans Park and attractions such as the the Musical Museum and the London Museum of Water and Steam.

Crossing the river along Kew Bridge you’ll pass Westerley Ware with its grassy areas, children’s playground and tennis courts, before reaching Kew’s stunning Royal Botanic Gardens. Here you’ll find an array of delightful gardens, greenhouses and conservatories, as well as a royal palace, providing you with an exceptional spot to enjoy a relaxing walk.

Education

Brentford is a great place to live if you have little ones to think of, thanks to excellent local primary schools such as Lionel Primary and Strand-on-the-Green Infant and Nursery School. Lionel Primary is rated as outstanding by Ofsted, along with the Nishkam School West London.

There are a couple of outstanding single-sex secondary schools in the local area too; the Green School for Girls in neighbouring Isleworth and Gunnersbury Catholic School for boys on Boston Manor Road. Elthorne Park High School in nearby Hanwell also accepts students from Brentford.

Brentford transport links

As well as several bus routes available in town, Brentford’s railway station offers London Overground services as well as South Western Railway trains. The town also provides you with superb access to the M4 motorway which heads west towards Slough, Reading, Swindon and Bristol, while Heathrow Airport is only around five miles away.

If you want to use the Tube, there are three local stations on the Piccadilly line; Boston Manor, Northfields and South Ealing. Chiswick Park and the District line are also close by.

The Brentford property scene

A charming riverside location makes Brentford an incredibly attractive place to live, yet house prices are lower than the London average. The rejuvenation of spots like Brentford Market has added to the town’s appeal, and you can invest in the local area by snapping up the one of the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments available along Hounslow’s Alexandra Road just a short distance away.

When you call us to enquire about your next home today, don’t forget to ask your adviser about offers such as our Movemaker scheme, which eliminates the need to pay any estate agent fees on a home you’re selling. You’ll also find it makes for a far less stressful move.
