Live the Tower Hill life

We’ve also got a lot for you to get excited about too, thanks to offers such as our Movemaker scheme, which could save you money when selling your existing home.

Things to see and do in Tower Hill

The Tower of London is a jewell in the crown of the English capital’s many iconic landmarks. Originally built by William the Conquerer in the 11th century, it’s remained at the forefront of London life for the best part of a millennium. Nowadays, it’s best known as the guardian of the Crown Jewels and for its ghost stories and tours which have the capacity to make you reel in horror at the grisly tales of torture and execution.

With Tower Bridge linking the area to Southwark and nearby attractions including Wilton’s Music Hall and Potters Fields Park, the Sky Garden offers breathtaking views. The Tower of London Ice Rink is a highlight of the winter calendar, while an array of the capital’s other top sights are all within walking distance.

It may be well known as a tourist hotspot because of its defining landmark, but Tower Hill is also a great place to live if you have children. St Pauls CofE just off the Highway is an outstanding primary school, according to Ofsted, along with Sir John Casss Foundation Primary.

At secondary level, St Michaels Catholic College just across the river is also in the outstanding category, and likewise Mulberry School for Girls. David Game College, meanwhile, is a top rated independent in the local area.

Tower Hill transport links

As you might expect from such a popular tourist spot, Tower Hill is well served by public transport. As well as a number of bus routes passing through the area, its Underground station offers services on the Circle and District lines. The City of London and other central spots are within walking and cycling distance, while London City Airport is six miles east.

The Tower Hill property scene

It probably won’t come as a surprise to learn that house prices in Tower Hill are considerably higher than the London average, with upmarket apartments the most prevalent form of property available in the area.

Developments such as our epic Landmark Place complex in the City of London have contributed to this market, while you can also find more affordable, yet expertly designed, apartments just to the north east of Tower Hill in places like East Ham and Upton Park.
