Our response to the Coronavirus

Safety first restart on our developments

As one of the first housebuilders to close our sites at the end of March, we have been carefully defining an updated set of enhanced working practices to allow us to reopen our sites in a safe and controlled manner. While Government guidance was that the construction industry could continue, we took the decision to temporarily close our business to put the health and safety of our customers, employees and contractors first.

With these updated and enhanced working practices now in place, we will begin a phased restart of construction from Monday 1st June on some of our developments.

As we restart, our updated approach includes:

  • Safety first: Social distancing and additional non-medical grade personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Revised site layouts: Passing points, floor signage and more hand washing facilities.
  • Updated ways of working: A Social Distancing Marshal assigned on each site, as well as limited employees on site with staggered start times.

We will begin a phased reopening of our sales offices and show homes from Monday 1st June. We've been carefully updating our ways of working so we can reopen our sales offices with appropriate social distancing measures in place, so you can visit us and feel safe.

In line with our commitment to put our customers first, we will be prioritising the completion of homes for our existing customers who have exchanged contracts or reserved with us. If you are in the process of buying a home with us, we will be in touch as soon as we have an update on your estimated completion date.

If you live on one of our developments, you may start to see members of our team on-site. Please be assured that they will have had a specific on-site briefing about returning to work. As we restart construction, we will keep listening to official advice and our people, adjusting our approach and updating our guidance as we go.

Thank you for your continued understanding and patience.
