Things to see and do in Aldgate

Whether you’re enjoying the views from Tower Hill, exploring the Fusilier Museum or viewing the Crown Jewels, you can also cross Tower Bridge to visit Potters Fields Park.
Go for a riverfront walk to soak up more spectacular vistas, catch a show at the Unicorn Theatre and make your way back to the north bank across London Bridge. With Covent Garden and Westminster a short stroll east, you can head back west towards Aldgate via the City of London, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Museum of London. Everywhere you look you’ll find top attractions such as the Barbican Centre, Whitechapel Gallery and Brick Lane with its cafes, bars and markets.
Aldgate is also attractive for its schools, with Sir John Cass’s Foundation Primary rated as outstanding by Ofsted. Further good options for younger children include Canon Barnett Primary and English Martyrs RC Primary. At secondary level, Swanlea School and Mulberry School for Girls are two local options in the education board’s outstanding bracket.
Aldgate transport links
The area is blessed with superb transport links. Aldgate station offers Underground services on the Circle and Metropolitan lines, while Aldgate East is on the Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines. Major train stations such as London Fenchurch Street and Liverpool Street are also a brief stroll away, while London City Airport is only six miles east.
