Things to see and do in Wood Green
Alexandra Palace and its adjoining park is the biggest draw in this area. You can also go for a gentle stroll around Wood Green Common and Barratt Gardens, stretch your dog’s legs at Woodside Park and go for a kick about at Tottenham Recreation Ground. See how the pros do it at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just a couple of miles away, sample the delights of the increasingly gentrified Wood Green High Road and make the most of the Green Flag Downhills Park with is gardens and sports facilities.
Education
No aspiring property hotspot is complete without great schools, and Wood Green is no exception. Noel Park Primary and Trinity Primary Academy are all outstanding local options for younger children, according to Ofsted. At secondary level, St Thomas More Catholic School is also in the education board’s top band, along with Woodside High School.
Wood Green transport links
Wood Green is just inside the North Circular, while the local road network has seen some welcome improvement in recent years. There are a number of train stations on the edge of town, including Alexandra Palace, while you can jump on the Tube’s Piccadilly line at Bounds Green and Turnpike Lane, which are both just a short stroll from the heart of Wood Green. This gives you a direct route to central spots like King’s Cross St Pancras, Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Hyde Park Corner, with the latter only 14 stops away.
The Wood Green property scene
There’s been an explosion in housing in the local area over recent years, including a range of lower-cost homes perfect for first-time buyers and renters. You can also find family homes and flat conversions in protected conservation areas, as well as Victorian and Edwardian terraces next to pretty green spaces. Or there are modern apartments a few miles east next to the Walthamstow Reservoirs along Forest Road.
