Things to see and do in Feltham
One of the biggest draws of this part of London is the wonderful access to open spaces you get. Hanworth Park is right on the edge of Feltham and has a playground, historic house and sports fields. The vast Bushy Park is spread over 445 hectares and only a few miles south east, while Bedfont Lakes Country Park is just to the west.
The Thames flows just to the south of town, with Molesey Reservoirs Nature Reserve right on the opposite bank. The Queen Mary Reservoir is great for walks and sailing, while in the heart of town there’s Feltham Green Park and Grosvenor Park. From Hampton Court Palace to Twickenham Stadium and Richmond Park, Feltham is within striking distance of some of London’s most famous spots.
Education
Reach Academy Feltham is one of the best schools in the area. It’s an all-through mixed academy where children can go from the age of four to 18, and rated as outstanding by Ofsted. Cardinal Road Infant and Nursery School is another outstanding option for younger children, while Victoria Junior School and Springwest Academy are ranked as good.
Feltham transport links
Feltham’s train station is off Hounslow Road and puts on South Western Railway services which take under 25 minutes to reach Waterloo. This makes Feltham a great place for commuting into Central London, while a number of bus routes also pass through town. If you travel abroad for business a lot or often like to go away on holiday, it’s tough to beat Feltham’s location for Heathrow Airport, which is only a couple of miles away.
The Feltham property scene
House prices in Feltham are very low compared to the London average, making this a wonderful place to invest. You can get a lot more house for your money than in other places across the capital, while still benefitting from great transport links, top schools and lots of local natural spaces.
Whether you’re looking for a semi-detached property around Grosvenor Park or a terrace next to Raleigh Park Open Space, you can also find modern apartments along Alexandra Road in neighbouring Hounslow.
