Live the Stratford life

The stunning regeneration of this area and its transformation into a vibrant hub of sport and culture means buying a new home in Stratford can seem like a no-brainer. Especially when you throw an offer such as our Movemaker scheme, where we help arrange the sale of your current home and cover any agents’ fees on your behalf.

Things to see and do in Stratford

The highlight of the area has to be the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Home not only to the Tumbling Bay Playground and the London Aquatics Centre, this is also where you’ll find the London Stadium, where football team West Ham United play their home games.

There are also plenty of great cafes, bars and restaurants in this part of town, as well as a Westfield shopping centre. From family trips to the Discover Children’s Story Centre and plenty of laughs at the ZAPspace Trampoline Park, you can also make the most of Stratford Park, Victoria Park and the famous Hackney Marshes.

Education

There are some excellent local schools your kids can attend, including the mixed all-through School 21. Located on Pitchford Street, it’s classed as outstanding by Ofsted. Likewise Colegrave Primary and Chobham Academy on Cheering Lane, which caters for three to 18-year-olds.

St Bonaventures School in Forest Gate is another outstanding local secondary for boys with a catchment area that encompasses Stratford, while girls in the town can attend the equally highly-rated St Angelas Ursuline School.

Stratford transport links

With such key sports facilities in the area, it’s important for Stratford to have great transport links. You can use these to get around on a daily basis, whether you’re catching the bus or a train from Stratford International. The main station at the meeting point of Great Eastern Road and High Street offers Overground and TfL Rail services, as well as DLR services.

You also get access to the Tube’s Central line, meaning you can get to places like Liverpool Street, Bank, Oxford Circus and Bond Street quickly and without having to change. Additionally, drivers can take advantage of the A12 road which snakes around town to easily reach the M11 and M25 motorways.

The Stratford property scene

With lots of regeneration and investment in new homes in this area, property prices are set to benefit and continue rising. This was effectively created as a new area to live in courtesy of the London 2012 Olympic Games, and its appeal has seen demand for housing skyrocket.

You can invest into a local area which looks like promising great financial rewards in the future with a new apartment in Stratford, or just a couple of miles away in Upton Park where you’ll also find some beautiful apartments.

Whether you want to be here or on the edge of some natural beauty spots along Forest Road in Walthamstow, make sure you’re up to speed on the latest offers to get you moving, such as the government’s London Help to Buy scheme.
