New Homes in Redbridge
Amongst the leafier suburbs of London comprising the Fairlop Waters Country Park to the North, Wanstead Flats to the South and a number of parks scattered all around such as Valentines Park, Claybury Park and Seven Kings Park, it is easy to understand the appeal of the Greater London borough for families and professionals looking for the countryside feel whilst still being within commuter reach of central London. Because of Redbridge being a bit further out from Zones 1 and 2 than other boroughs, prices are still affordable, but they’re rising fast.
If you’re looking for a good-value property with great rental potential, now could be the ideal time to invest in Redbridge.

Things to see and do in Redbridge
This borough is brimming with open spaces perfect for enjoying some fresh air. From the Wanstead Flats and Wanstead Park in the south west to Fairlop Waters Country Park where you can even try your hand at climbing and bouldering, Hainault Forest Country Park also resides in the north east.
With Claybury Park offering impressive city views, Clayhall Park is perfect for the dog and Chalet Wood is a superb spot for a walk. There’s also Valentines Park, Barkingside Recreation Ground and Seven Kings Park with its kids’ playgrounds, skate park and basketball, cricket and tennis facilities. You’ve also got Epping Forest just to the north west of the borough, further enhancing your options for spending time outdoors.
Education
There are lots of great schools across Redbridge, with several rated as outstanding by Ofsted in and around Ilford alone. This includes Cleveland Road Primary, Christchurch Primary and Highlands Primary, while Fullwood Primary in Barkingside and Woodford’s Ray Lodge Primary also receive top marks from the education board.
If your kids are secondary age, Ilford County High School is an outstanding option for boys, while Woodford County High is ranked just as highly for girls. Other top choices in the borough include Beal High and Valentines High, which are also both judged to be outstanding by Ofsted.
Redbridge transport links
There are great transport options across the borough, thanks to a hugely convenient loop in the London Underground’s Central line. The Tube branches off to Wanstead after Leytonstone, stopping in a range of places including Redbridge, Barkingside, Hainault and Chigwell.
Ilford is served by a Transport for London train line, while there are also plenty of local buses. If you have a car, the M11 motorway starts in the west of the borough where the A406 and A1400 meet, heading north to the M25 and on to Bishop’s Stortford and Cambridge.
The Redbridge property scene
With some parts of the borough being towards the outer edge of Greater London, house prices in Redbridge are lower than the average across the rest of the capital. Whether you’re after a period home or a modern apartment, this means you can get more house for your money in the area.
If it’s an apartment you’re after, don’t miss developments such as our New Market Place and Upton Gardens complexes just over Redbridge’s southern border. Or offers like our Movemaker scheme, which could save you a lot of time, money and stress when you move.
