Give your Home a Halloween Design Make-Over
With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect opportunity to dress up your home. From DIY Halloween decoration ideas, to autumnal interiors with a ghostly twist, here’s our top tips to make your home ready for the occasion.

Interior design ideas
Halloween inspired interiors can still be chic and fashionable, despite what you initially might have in mind. There are loads of trendy ornaments, such as gold metal pumpkins and luxury candles, and these can be found in most department stores or within dedicated supermarket Halloween displays.

You could also try incorporating some classic Halloween colours into your home. If you don’t want anything too ‘out there’, you could try adding some simple orange, black and purple cushions to your living room sofa. Or if you’re really committed to the spooky celebration, painting a single wall in a Halloween inspired shade is a great way to bring the season into a room. If you’ve moved into a new build Barratt Home, this is a great way to make the most of your blank canvas.

Outside decorations

Halloween is the perfect time to dress up the outside of your home. Wreaths are no longer just for Christmas, as over recent years autumnal wreaths have become a rapidly growing trend – they tend to be filled with brown and gold leaves and orange berries. Again, these are available from many high street stores.

If you want to have a bit more fun around Halloween, you could add some tombstones to your front lawn, carve pumpkins and place them next to your front door, or even hang a skeleton from your porch. These are also great ways to encourage trick or treaters on the big night! Take a look here for some inspiration.

Picture perfect pumpkins

For many, carving pumpkins is the highlight of Halloween year-on-year – an event the whole family can get involved in. But rather than just simply carving them, why not take it to the next level and give them a full make-over?

You could try painting them, dusting them in glitter or covering them in materials. They can then be used as decorations around the home. They look great by the fireplace!

DIY decorations

Like decorating pumpkins, home-made Halloween decorations can be really simple to make, but look extremely effective. You could have a go at making banners, spooky looking candles or creepy lanterns. By making decorations yourself not only is it fun for the family and cost effective, but unique to your home.

So get creative, have fun, and turn your home into the perfect place to celebrate Halloween this autumn.
