If you’re moving to the area with children, they’ll love visiting the Rare Breeds Centre in Ashford, walking along Dungeness Beach, and riding on the heritage trains at Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, and Kent & East Sussex Railway. High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is also a beautiful spot for weekend adventures in the great outdoors.

For families moving to Camber, it’s good to know there are a number of excellent schools in the local area. Outstanding schools nearby include Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Ark Blacklands Primary Academy and St Richard’s Catholic College. Independent education is on offer at Buckswood School, Claremont School and Battle Abbey School.

For older children and adults thinking about studying for a degree, Hastings is home to a campus of the University of Brighton, while further education is available at Sussex Coast College Hastings.

Getting to Camber

Camber is well-connected by road via the A259, while the nearest train station is in neighbouring Rye, a 15 minute drive away. The village is a 40 minute drive from Hastings, one hour from Dover, one hour from Maidstone and one hour 55 minutes from London, so there are a number of different commuter routes to take from the coast.

If you’re going on holiday, London Gatwick Airport is one hour 30 minutes from Camber by car, offering flights to destinations right across the globe.
