There are lots of great spots to visit when you want to get out and explore the local area. You can climb Dechmont Law for picturesque views out towards the Firth of Forth, Edinburgh and famous volcano Arthur’s Seat. Meanwhile, Cobbinshaw Reservoir, Almondvale Park and Muiravonside Country Park are all great for walks.
If you have children, the Innoflate amusement park is great for a family day out, although even if you don’t have kids it’s a good spot to unleash your own inner child. You’ve got mountains and passes like Cauldstane Slap to explore to the south as the land opens up to the Scottish Lowlands, while the Pentland Hills are another top spot for hikes and challenging bike rides.

The north and the south of Livingston both have their own train stations, which you can use to catch a train to Edinburgh in around 20 minutes, while it’s an hour to Glasgow. The M8 motorway conveniently passes to the north of town, while Edinburgh Airport is about nine miles away.
