Where Should You Live in South Wales?

Where Should You Live in South Wales

A region which packs so much into a relatively small area, South Wales is a wonderful place to live. Whether you’re drawn in by the culture of the area’s leading cities or the picture-perfect natural environments, you can look forward to exploring a spectacular corner of the UK when you buy a new home here. If you’re debating where exactly is best to put down roots, South Wales has so many great options, with five of the best outlined below.

St Fagans

Lying on the outskirts of Cardiff, St Fagans is one of the capital’s most desirable suburbs. An affluent area that has its own national history museum and castle, the village is perfect for travelling into Cardiff and is also conveniently located for the M4 motorway. New build homes in this part of South Wales are extremely popular, so you’ll need to be quick to secure one of the remaining homes at Maes Y Deri just a couple of miles from St Fagans along Llantrisant Road.

Swansea

As one of the most exciting cities in Wales, Swansea boasts a stunning setting within a picturesque bay. Whether you’re heading to the beach, sampling the local culture or exploring the nearby Gower Peninsula – the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – this is a brilliant place to call home. You can do just that when you buy a new home at our Chapel Fields development, which is less than seven miles from the centre of Swansea and not far from the Loughor Estuary.

Cwmbran

If you’re thinking about where to live in South Wales, the beautiful town of Cwmbran is well worth your attention. Surrounded by scenic hills and valleys which tumble down from the Brecon Beacons just north of town, Newport is only five miles to the south and Cardiff 15 miles away. This makes Cwmbran a popular place to live among commuters, with developments such as our Hanbury Locks site proving highly desirable.

Barry

Just a short journey from the centre of Cardiff, Barry is a great place to live if you want to be close to the Welsh capital without paying the premium that usually comes with being in more central areas. With local attractions including Barry Island Pleasure Park, this is a fantastic place to bring up children. If you want to move to this part of the region, don’t miss Parc Fferm Wen in the St Athan area not far from Barry, or our impressive Harbourside @The Quays development.

Bridgend

Whether you’re exploring the local nature reserves, playing a round of golf at one of the clubs on the outskirts of town or visiting Port Talbot for a day at the seaside, Bridgend is a great place to live. Offering a great location between Cardiff and Swansea with the M4 motorway passing close by, our Morgan’s Meadow development lies on the western outskirts of Bridgend and delivers a collection of modern 3 and 4 bedroom homes just a few miles from the south coast.
