Live the Life

Located in County Durham just a short distance away from Middlesbrough, Darlington is a popular market town on the banks of the River Skerne in the North East of England. Whether you’re walking through the revamped town centre, discovering the old heritage railway line or taking part in local sports, there’s certainly no shortage of things to do on the doorstep of your new home in Darlington.

Things to see and do

The town also hosts lots of different events throughout the year, including the Darlington Pride Festival, the Rhythm‘n’Blues festival and the Darlington 10K. For sports fans, Darlington is home to Darlington Railway Athletic football team and Darlington Mowden Park R.F.C, while The Dolphin Centre is a great facility for swimmers and gym-goers.

Darlington also has an interesting railway heritage, with exhibits at Head of Steam Darlington Railway Museum taking visitors through the town’s history. David Mach’s train sculpture, made entirely of bricks and located at Morrisons Morton Park, is also worth a visit.

Other places of interest in or near to the town include Darlington Library, Raby Castle, Walworth Birds of Prey, Hardwick Park, Wynyard Woodland Park Planetarium and Richmond Castle. Middlesbrough is just a short drive away, where you’ll find the Institute of Modern Art, Dorman Museum and Newham Grange Country Farm.
