Things to see and do

Slough is home to plenty of high street shops at Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre and throughout the town, while green spaces in and around the centre include Black Park and Langley Country Park.

If you enjoy getting active, Go Ape Black Park, Snowball Farm Equestrian Centre, Windsor Leisure Centre and Slough Ice Arena are all popular, while golfers can practice their swing at Iver Golf Club and Academy, Thorney Park Golf Club, or Wexham Park Golf Centre. If you prefer to watch, you can cheer on the horses at the Royal Windsor Racecourse.

For families moving to the area, there are lots of kid-friendly attractions nearby including Legoland Windsor and Thorpe Park. If you want to learn more about local history, you can visit the royal Windsor Castle, see the exhibits at the Museum of Eton Life, and find out more about cars in times gone by at the History on Wheels Museum.

Education

If your children are school-age, it’s good to know which schools are considered the best in the local area. Getting to Slough

Slough is just off the M4 and only a short drive from the M25, so the town has very good transport links by road. The train station links to many of the UK’s biggest towns and cities, including London, so it’s easy to get from a to b.

From London Paddington, the train journey to Slough takes just 15 minutes, making this a popular commuter route. The journey to Basingstoke from Reading takes 30 minutes by car or less than 15 minutes by train, while Windsor is only a 10-minute car journey away from the town.

If you’re going on holiday, London Heathrow Airport is just 15 minutes away by car or taxi, ideal for hassle-free trips abroad.
