Runcorn is well-connected to neighbouring Liverpool, but there’s lots to see and do in the town itself, from browsing high street stores at Runcorn Shopping Centre to exploring the centuries-old ruins on Halton Hill. Norton Priory Museum and Gardens takes you through 900 years of history, while Catalyst Science Discovery Centre is a great place for the kids to get hands-on with the educational exhibits.

Getting to Runcorn
For car journeys, Runcorn is close to the M62 and M56, while public transport departs from the town’s bus station and two train stations. Runcorn is a 30-minute drive away from Liverpool, or 20 minutes by train, and Chester can also be reached in 30 minutes by car and 20 minutes by train.
The town is 45 minutes away from Manchester by car or 50 minutes by train from Runcorn East to Manchester Piccadilly. For trips to London, the direct train from Runcorn to London Euston takes around one hour 50 minutes.
When you’re returning from holiday or a business trip, Runcorn is only 15 minutes away from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
