    You’ll find lots of cultural attractions in the region’s towns, from The Dick Institute, The Burns Monument Centre and the Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock, to the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre near Dalmellington and the Burns House Museum in Mauchline.

From Glasgow, the journey to Cumnock in the centre of East Ayrshire takes around 50 minutes, while the equivalent journey from Edinburgh takes one hour 45 minutes on average.
