    Live the Scotland life

Whether you’re drawn by the history, culture, natural landscapes or bustling cities, Scotland is a diverse country with something to offer everyone. From the major hubs of Glasgow and Edinburgh to vibrant towns and rural villages surrounded by spectacular scenery, our latest offers page could help you buy a new home anywhere in Scotland. You can find more information on schemes like Help to Buy (Scotland) there, or read on to learn more about what the country has to offer.

Things to see and do in Scotland

Scotland is perhaps best known for its natural beauty. Much of its countryside remains untouched, allowing you to explore swathes of lochs, glens, mountains and coastline with only the peaceful sounds of nature for company. From the Cairngorms to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, both the Highlands and Lowlands are perfect if you love spending time in the great outdoors.

There’s much more to Scotland than this though. Capital Edinburgh is known as one of the best cities to visit anywhere in the world, attracting tourists from across the globe. With iconic landmarks and attractions such as the city’s famous castle and annual festivities, Glasgow is also a brilliant place to spend time also. From footballing rivalries to legendary lochs, top museums and galleries, castles, palaces and theme parks - Scotland really does have it all.

Scotland’s rich history also encompasses its education system, which dates back many centuries. The Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) is adopted from nursery through to secondary level, while Education Scotland is the authority which carries out the country’s inspections. Any school ranking as ‘excellent’ is sure to be a strong option for your kids, with lots of fine state and independent choices available across the country.

    Scotland transport links

From the tram system in Edinburgh to Glasgow’s subway, national bus, coach and train networks also stretch the length and breadth of Scotland. The south of the country plays host to all of Scotland’s motorways, with arteries like the M74 heading south from Glasgow to the North West of England. Use the M8 to get between Edinburgh and Glasgow, both of which have airports laying on a wide selection of international routes. Aberdeen, meanwhile, has the world’s busiest civilian heliport, on account of the local petroleum industry.

    The Scotland property scene

Naturally for a country with such variety, the Scottish property market is as diverse and interesting as the towns, villages and cities it covers. From deserted rural neighbourhoods to rugged coastal spots and city centre living, the whole of Scotland is your oyster. You’ll find some of the best availability in and around major cities Edinburgh and Glasgow, including areas like Leith and Portobello close to the heart of the capital. Wherever you want to move to, don’t miss schemes like our Part Exchange programme for the best experience with your move.

    Help to Buy Scotland

In Scotland you can take advantage of Help to Buy Scotland if you are a first time buyer. Take a look at the Help to Buy Scotland page to find out how the scheme works and how it can help you move.
