If you’re moving to Hassocks with young children, it’s good to know there are a number of ‘outstanding’ schools nearby including Hassocks Infant School, Birchwood Grove Community Primary School and Downlands Community School, while independent education can be found at Hurstpierpoint College and Burgess Hill Girls School.

For higher education, you or your older children can study for a degree nearby at the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton.

Getting to Hassocks

If you’re commuting to nearby towns and cities for work or taking a day trip with the family, Hassocks is well-connected by both road and rail. To get to Hassocks from Brighton, the journey takes just 10 minutes by train or 20 minutes by car, while the train from Crawley takes around 20 minutes. For journeys from central London, you can get to Hassocks in just 55 minutes by train or one hour 30 minutes by car. 

When it’s time to jet off on holiday, London Gatwick Airport is conveniently only a 15 minute train journey or 25 minute drive from Hassocks, so you can avoid the hassle of airport parking and take public transport instead.
