Live the life

Found on the south coast of Devon, the lovely town of Dawlish has grown from a small fishing village into a popular seaside town.

With miles of beaches to enjoy, you also have lively towns and cities like Exeter on your doorstep. And with great transport links and good schools, a new home in Dawlish is an ideal choice.

Things to see and do

Dawlish is known for its beaches, and these lovely stretches are ideal for people of all ages; whether they’re looking to relax or explore.

Dawlish Warren is a great choice for a family day out offering rides, go karting and mini-golf, while Warren golf course provides opportunities for golfers to practice their swing.

Explore nature at Dawlish Nature Reserve, which features several migrant and native species of birds along with mammals, reptiles and insects. Rated as the second most important reserve in Devon, if you’re really lucky you might even spot a dolphin.

There are also several interesting shops to explore, and Dawlish is particularly known for its black swans; which you can see in the river of the town’s lovely park.

Just 13 miles from Exeter, this is a great place to explore. Visit the Castle Quarter and the gothic Exeter Cathedral, before walking down the narrowest street in England, and shopping in the Guildhall Shopping Centre. The Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery is one for history lovers, while the historic quayside is around a 15 minute walk from the city centre.

There are several schools in Dawlish, both primary and secondary giving those with children lots of choice. Those wishing to study at higher education will find the University of Exeter close by.

Transport links

Dawlish has good rail links with the railway station found in the centre of town next to the beach. It is served by trains to most locations in Devon and London, as well as further afield. For motorists travelling into the area, the A379 runs parallel to the railway line.

For those travelling further afield, the nearest airport is Exeter International Airport; which is around a 30 minute drive from Dawlish.
