For international travel, Newcastle International Airport is just 5 minutes away by car.

For families and dog walkers, Blakelaw Park and Nuns Moor Park are beautiful spaces to enjoy some fresh air. There’s a library and cafe at the Blakelaw Centre, as well as lots of good restaurants and local shops too.
Newcastle city centre has lots to offer residents of Blakelaw, from museums and galleries to theatres and shopping centres. Children will enjoy visiting the Seven Stories book museum, while the Discovery Museum and Centre for Life are well worth a visit.
For cultural days out, the Liang Art Gallery hosts regular exhibitions throughout the year while Newcastle Theatre Royal has a lively programme of performances spanning drama, music, dance and comedy.
For those who like to be active, there are lots of sporting facilities close by including Newcastle Climbing Centre, Newcastle United Golf Club and Westerhope Golf Club. If you prefer to watch sports rather than take part, St James’ Park and the Stadium of Light are just a short drive away.
