The town also hosts a diverse range of additional sports, including several cricket clubs, tennis and bowls facilities, a hockey club and golf courses.

Bridgend is a perfect place for the keen cyclist, with several cycle routes in the area. It is particularly renowned for its mountain bike trails, which are recognised as some of the best in Europe.

Also within the area is Bryngarw Country Park, which offers a variety of areas to explore, in both its natural habitats including woodland and grassland, as well as an oriental garden. Take a walk along the lush banks of River Garw and spot some of the plentiful wildlife living here.

Trains from Bridgend station are available to the nearby cities of Cardiff and Swansea, as well as more long distance trains to Bristol, London Paddington and Manchester Piccadilly.

Both rail and bus services are available to Cardiff International Airport, which is the nearest airport to Bridgend.

Bridgend contains two main roads that lead to the M4; the A4016 and Bridgend Road. From the M4 you can reach areas East and West of the town including Swansea, Cardiff and Newport. Take the A470 off the M4 to reach areas North of Bridgend.
