  If you’re moving to the area with children, they’ll enjoy seeing the animals at Ferry Farm Country Park, riding the trains at North Scarle Miniature Railway, and discovering local history at Southwell Minster. In the evenings you can see a performance at Newark Palace Theatre, or catch a film at the Odeon cinema.

• How are the Balderton transport links?

   

  Balderton has good transport connections by road, and although there’s no train station in the village, there are two stations in Newark on Trent. The journey to Balderton from Newark takes just five minutes by car, while the village is around 40 minutes from Nottingham, one hour from Sheffield and Derby, and one hour 30 minutes from Birmingham.

  If you’re travelling from London, the journey to Balderton takes around two hours 30 minutes by car depending on traffic, or one hour 15 minutes.  London takes 2 hours 30 minutes by car via the A1 and M11, or just 1 hour 15 minutes on the Virgin Trains service from the nearest train station at Newark North Gate.

  For air travel, Balderton is 50 minutes away from East Midlands Airport and 45 minutes from Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield.
