Alternatively, head over to our latest offers page for more information on programmes such as our Movemaker scheme.

Things to see and do in Cannock

There’s no doubt about what the star attraction is in this area. An atmospheric forest and nature reserve, Cannock Chase is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Not only is it perfect for relaxing walks, it’s also an incredibly popular spot for exciting leisure pursuits, no thanks to its mountain bike routes and tree-top adventure trails.

Cannock Park is even closer to the town centre, while Cannock Lake and Shoal Hill Common are great for walking. The surrounding countryside plays host to a selection of golf courses, while other highlights include Old Brickworks Nature Reserve and Chasewater Country Park. Whether you’re soaking up the views from the Hednesford Hills or exploring Mill Green and Hawks Green Valley Nature Reserve, the Museum of Cannock Chase is well worth a visit too.

Education

There’s a great choice of local schools rated as good by Ofsted in and around Cannock. This includes primary options such as St Lukes CofE, St Marys Catholic Primary and Bridgtown Primary. If your children are a little older, or you’re planning for the future, Cannock Chase High School and Cardinal Griffin Catholic College are both good secondary schools where boys and girls can study through to their A Levels.

Cannock transport links

Cannock’strain station is just to the south of the town centre, next to the West Midlands and McArthur Glen designer outlets. Services to Birmingham take just under 40 minutes, while you can drive into the nearby city in around half an hour. Cannock is also conveniently located for the M6 motorway, which you can use to drive north to Stoke in around 40 minutes, with London just over two hours to the south.

The Cannock property scene

This is a desirable place to live, so it’ll come as little surprise there’s a strong property market in Cannock. There have been some fantastic new developments in the area over recent years, not least our Deers Rise site along Pye Green Road in Hednesford. Providing you with the chance to buy a 2, 3 or 4 bedroom new build house with stunning natural scenery on your doorstep, you may also be eligible to purchase your home here through the Government-backed Help to Buy West Midlands scheme.
