Things to see and do in Cannock

There’s no doubt about what the star attraction is in this area. An atmospheric forest and nature reserve, Cannock Chase is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Not only is it perfect for relaxing walks, it’s also an incredibly popular spot for exciting leisure pursuits, no thanks to its mountain bike routes and tree-top adventure trails.

Cannock Park is even closer to the town centre, while Cannock Lake and Shoal Hill Common are great for walking. The surrounding countryside plays host to a selection of golf courses, while other highlights include Old Brickworks Nature Reserve and Chasewater Country Park. Whether you’re soaking up the views from the Hednesford Hills or exploring Mill Green and Hawks Green Valley Nature Reserve, the Museum of Cannock Chase is well worth a visit too.

Education

There’s a great choice of local schools rated as good by Ofsted in and around Cannock. This includes primary options such as St Luke’s CofE, St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Bridgtown Primary. If your children are a little older, or you’re planning for the future, Cannock Chase High School and Cardinal Griffin Catholic College are both good secondary schools where boys and girls can study through to their A Levels.
