From vast stretches of open countryside to spectacular beauty spots, a beautiful coastline and a collection of alluring towns and cities, North Yorkshire offers an attractive way of life. If you’re considering moving to the area, you can save money on next home with offers.

Things to see and do in North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire is an excellent place for those who love spending time outdoors, thanks to incredible spots such as the Howardian Hills, Nidderdale and North Riding Forest Park. You also have two vast national parks to explore - the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors - as well as an array of beaches, seaside towns and fishing villages.

There are plenty of cultural draws and landmarks such as historic castles, cathedrals and abbeys dotted around the county. You also have access to lots of great family attractions such as Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley Theme Park.

Education

North Yorkshire is home to a variety of excellent schools, including Hempland Primary School in York, which is rated as outstanding by Ofsted. Harrogate’s Western Primary School is ranked just as highly by the education board, while if you’re in the Middlesbrough area St Edward’s RC Primary in Linthorpe is another outstanding choice.

At secondary level, Ripon Grammar School is one of the top-performing options and outstanding in Ofsted’s eyes. The same rating is enjoyed by York’s Ryedale School, St Aidan’s CofE in Harrogate and St Francis Xavier School in Richmond.

North Yorkshire transport links

The A1(M) is North Yorkshire’s major road which connects places like MiddlesbroughNewcastle and Leeds as it runs north to south. The A19 links York to Middlesbrough, and there are lots of other A roads connecting different parts of North Yorkshire and other places in the North. Or if you don’t drive, there are a number of local buses and trains to help you get around.

The North Yorkshire property scene

North Yorkshire has enjoyed a booming property scene in recent years, with prices rising faster than the national average. The market is helped by popular spots such as Harrogate, where you can find lovely 3 and 4 bedroom homes for sale off Kingsley Road on the north-eastern outskirts of town.

Take a look at our 2 bed apartments or spacious 4 bed detached houses just outside Selby in Barlby. Or perhaps you’d prefer a comfortable family home on the edge of picturesque countryside in Yarm. Whatever you choose, don’t miss incentives such as our Part Exchange offer, where we can act as a guaranteed buyer for your current home.
