The M62 motorway passes just to the south of Halifax, giving the town easy access to Leeds in the east and Manchester in the opposite direction. Trains to the latter take around 45 minutes, while it’s around half an hour into Leeds. Bradford is just over 10 minutes away, while Leeds Bradford Airport is 15 miles from Halifax.

Halifax is blessed with a number of excellent schools, including Copley Primary School to the south of the town centre. All Saints’ CofE Junior and Infant School is also in the south, while Northowram Primary School sits on the north‑east outskirts of town. All of these schools are widely regarded for their high standards.
The North Halifax Grammar School also enjoys a strong reputation, as does the Crossley Heath School. Trinity Academy is another well‑thought‑of option just to the west of the town centre, while Ravenscliffe High School is similarly recognised for the quality of its specialist provision.
