From Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve to Mam Tor and Odin Mine, there are lots of National Trust sites to explore in High Peak. Whether you love discovering local history, walking through the countryside or taking the kids out for a breath of fresh air, there’s lots to discover in this part of the Peak District. If you enjoy hiking or cycling, the Monsal Trail, Dovedale and Ladybower Reservoir are all nearby.
If you’re moving to a new home in High Peak with a family in tow, there are lots of great attractions in and around High Peak including Lyme Park in Disley, Poole’s Cavern in Buxton, Chestnut Conservation and Wildlife Park in Chapel-en-le-Frith and Hargate Hill Equestrian Centre in Glossop.
For shopping at both high street stores and independent boutiques, Macclesfield is only a short drive away, while the Trafford Centre, Manchester city centre and Sheffield city centre are great for a retail therapy day trip.

Getting to High Peak
High Peak is close to some of the North’s most popular cities, just an hour away from Manchester by car, 50 minutes from Sheffield and one hour 20 minutes from Leeds. High Peak can be reached in just 30 minutes from Macclesfield and 40 minutes from Stockport, while the journey to and from Birmingham takes around one hour 50 minutes.
If you’re travelling to London, the journey to the capital takes three hours 45 minutes via the M1. If you want to avoid driving, the direct train from Macclesfield to London Euston takes just one hour 45 minutes.
When you’re going on holiday, both the East Midlands Airport and Doncaster Sheffield Airport are one hour 15 minutes away from High Peak, while Manchester Airport can be reached in just 45 minutes via the A6.
